He started one of the first farmer’s markets in the early 1970s, and 29 years ago published The Green Mountain Farmer, a monthly newspaper dedicated to farm and food issues. The Woodchuck’s Guide to Gardening, Ron’s first book, was followed successfully by Lifting the Yoke: Local Solutions to America’s Farm and Food Crisis.
